MIA from Blogging!

Oh so so so sorry. I know I said there would be some post of something else and cool, but I got a call during August for an interview and well things started to roll. Then other calls came in and more interviews, but at last I was given an offer which I believe that's all I can say. All in all the job hunt is over and my career will soon start, but I have a few plans to move my career a tad bit faster. Also I'm still working on my own projects for pc's and apps, I'm thinking of other ideas and take them on see where that goes. Obviously I will continue to run... I keep training but I got lazy this past week or 2 haha.. but I'm back on track ( no pun intended, I don't run on a track).... Ok so hope to post something down the road that's good, I'll see what happens! You all have a great week and finish the month with awesomeness!!

Food poisoning? and the crap that followed....

Ok so I've been away for a long time, very long. I never thought I would have this much of a gap in between my posts. But at last shit happens (excuse the language and no pun intended) and that is what actually happened. I got a severe case of the runs (aka diarrhea) or so I thought. I was like it will go away, and it didn't so I went to the doctor 5 days later and I had a check up and what not. The doc says you have food poisoning, and I'm like whaat!! (yes double "a" intended). So I got an injection for the food poisoning and what not, and got some meds to take to completely wipe out the infection. Again the crap that followed... I live in a small place pretty much a bed for myself with almost no privacy, but what the hell its temporary until I get on my feet and get my own room or pad (aka place, fortress of solitude, man cave lol) so some of the other folk I live with is my close family and then some other relatives... well my relatives get sick, but they seem to not have any manners.. coughing all over the place (I know by now you might think I'm paranoid of germs, yes but not that much, lol) and well a little pissed off by now, but letting it go, until damn they cough straight at my face and on purpose. I loose my cap, son of a b!##*, any who I lecture them on how they should be coughing moving their arm so their shoulder ends up pretty close to their mouth to cover and hopefully them germs are not airborne and die off and no coughing on hands. So by the end of my lecture I get a "What the F*&* is your problem" and a "I don't give a F&*# its your problem not mine" ... great, just great. So again the whole nice guy thing, its a must that I help others with their shit, but when I ask for something easy and simple I end up getting the WTF. Even right now as I write this, the cough is in the air, sucks huh? but then again I think of all the good stuff. 1) I have a roof, 2) I have food, 3) I recovered from the runs*, 4) I'm getting better from that cough i caught, 5) I have plenty of things to keep me busy, 6) Life is awesome, 7) I have a date to go to the minute I get well. 8) I can run and workout, 9) I'm awesome at accomplishing my goals.... so I'll have to forget this whole ordeal and move on... and back on track.. speaking about that.. I have to get ready for another race. I haven't decided between the long beach half marathon or the rock & roll Los Angeles half marathon both good to run. If anyone wants to help me decide please leave a comment below.

Job Hunting taking its sweet time

Ok so as stated in a previous post I recently graduated its barely been a little over a month. So here I am at home sitting, reading, running, and watching TV shows because I haven't landed a job yet. Pretty weird I had envisioned myself working right away after graduation, but it didn't go as I saw it, haha its all good. Seriously thou I feel weird, I was so used to working in the past and studying at the same time, plus doing side projects (drawing, learning photoshop, writing poetry), among other little things, but any who now I'm not doing two major things that were a big part of my daily life. Now I'm switching that for writing here, running and working out (probably a little too much), and going out on dates "and that's when I realize, damn I need a job." However that is not entirely true, its not so much the job, but the money haha, right?... Well to eat out and a few other things, I don't want to look like a cheap broke ass guy (I'm already getting close to one, definitely don't want to be the other, lol) when I'm on a date . So any of you ladies and gentlemen ever had a problem with finding a job after graduating, (I feel in  a stop, that I'm pushing to go forward and it seems impossible, but I know that I will get through, hey I'm a graduate with three IT certifications and studying for the next one) Ok so maybe you or someone you know has much better degrees/certs than me, but you get my point no?... Well I know for a fact I have to keep a positive outlook, chin up, go to more car shows and running events, and enjoy this rest before I do start working and have less time for myself. It reminds me of someone who helped my family very much who told me once "Siempre hay tiempo para todo, pero to a su propio tiempo".... what he said was "There is always time for everything, but everything at its own time".. so whenever I feel like things aren't going my way, I remember his words and just go with the flow. Alright well hope you all are having a great week, go out there and do your best, I will do the same.

SpoCom in Anaheim July 13 2013

Ok so sorry if anyone is reading my blog and waited this long for me to post some pictures on SpoCom. It was actually a great day and I definitely had a great time at this event, downside a few camera issues, but was able to get some good camera shots of this awesome event. I like the custom cars they have and of course always great to meet the beautiful ladies.
So here are some pics taken:
Walking around saw many cars and of course they are by all means really great especially when compared to my car haha. As you can see the awesome Lamborghini above, I don't know about you, but I definitely like the green color paint it has.
Another great car with an awesome body, but to truly appreciate this car you had to be there to see it. Sorry my camera skills are not up to par to show you how great this car is.
Ok what I truly like liked about this car was the color of the body to color of the rim combination. It looks like something I would definitely like to drive around.
Ok so here is a Subaru I like them period. haha but this one had a great body kit again sorry for my lack of camera skills I'm a total noob. I will make sure the next time around I will have better pictures and lots more.
This Audi is great, to bad I couldn't see what was under the hood, but from the outside it looked awesome, don't you agree?....
Ok so maybe many of you will like this maybe not, but this car is just pure awesomeness from the great body work, to the color paint job, and the oh so many great mods on this engine, I wish I had one myself.

Here's a few pics of some awesome ladies I got to take pictures of at SpoCom:

"Lady in red!" you know how it goes, but I digress. Brandi Renee, I believe is her name, she is amazingly hot. If you like her show her your support check out her page at Brandi Renee. She was very nice when I got to meet and take a picture with her.

Here is the lovely Lena Love, she is a very tall and beautiful gal, nothing but smiles. If you would like to support her check out her page at Lena Love.

Here is another beautiful lady, unfortunately I didn't get her name.

Ok, now guys please be kind to the amazingly beautiful Xena Kai. I was glad to meet her and take a pic with her. She has a great smile and really, I cannot stress this enough.. amazingly beautiful, ok I hope I got that across (I doubt I needed to repeat that). So if you guys want to show her your support check out her page at Xena Kai

So the following three pics are these gorgeous ladies which again I'm sorry I don't know their names, but they were modeling and showed all the cameras their amazing poses (it looks hard, it is hard to pose, let alone the high heels they wear) So please if you know who they are leave a comment and I will update so any of you out there can support and like their pages (if any).

 .........................................................................................................................................................
Ok so here is a pic of my top favorite model the one and only Eva Skye. Of course I also took a picture with her and she is amazingly tall (or it could be her high heels), but she was very kind and the cameras loved her, I had to wait three times to finally get to take a picture with her because every time a rush of cameras would rush and click, click, click, pose after pose. Hands down she knows how to work the camera and the cameras love her for that. So show her your support if you like her... check out her page at Eva Skye

.....................................................................................................................................................................

Last but not least... check out this awesome bike... I liked the color and the artwork was fantastic, next time I will try a closer shot, I was just a tad bit scared of getting close. You know after years of watching cartoons you realize that getting to close might spell trouble and you fantasize of something that more than likely doesn't ever happen with the exception of the silent crickets laughing at you and everyone else minding their own business, haha. Any who I hope you liked the pics, and again until next time! You all have a great day and lets all expect an awesome weekend!!!

It was great, amazing cars and awesome beautiful ladies. I had a great time so here is the preview without further writing haha:

I'll make a new post sometime this week with lots of pictures, but I won't be able to for now, since I have other things to do... like my daily run, haha.. but enjoy this small collage (yeah, that's what we will call it) ..
Alright you all have a great and awesome day and beginning of a new week!!!

Mad Catz R.A.T.5 a graduation present.

Ok so I graduated recently after several years of being in college and attending a local university which I really enjoyed. There are great professors from several information system courses I took for my major and other classes such as management, Chinese history, and finance. I felt many of the professors really did their best, I'm glad to have attended and been part of each of those classes. Well but like the title of this post says Mad Catz R.A.T.5 you are here for that, not my reminiscence of college days, haha. Ok so I graduated and one of my cousins who I look up to for being straight out awesome always pushing against obstacles in life no matter how tough they are she knows how to keep pushing forward. She originally got me a different mouse, but said she was trying to get me something more of my liking, but she had relied on salesperson lack of knowledge and later after purchasing the first mouse someone was kind enough to explain the differences in the types of gaming mouse available. So luckily she had the receipt and I could go exchange it for the one I wanted. I was like awesome!!!! So I hurried back to the electronics store, and if anyone is wondering where. Fry's electronics. Any who I go and return the mouse and I'm looking around the store and then I was like I've been keeping an eye on the R.A.T mouse for a long time. So I took the R.A.T.5 and alas I have a gaming mouse which I love. I first plugged it in without the installation of the drivers simply let Windows configure it, and it worked of course. I was like this works great even without the download of the drivers and software, but I like playing Starcraft II so I went ahead and downloaded the drivers and software. Here is what followed:::
So first step simply was to go to their website which is http://www.cyborggaming.com/ and of course their website is fairly easy to navigate through and find what you are looking for. So under the downloads section simply choose your Operating System(OS) followed by your product, mine of course was the R.A.T.5, click the download driver and wait a few seconds or minutes depending on your connection. Then download the latest software much easier as you can see choose your OS and click download software. I think this one I waited for a two or three minutes, not very long.
So as you can see I'm using Firefox here so first install the driver and after the interface software. And as you can see in the screenshot below the driver install easily and fast just keep an eye out if you are using windows for the user account control which will appear if enabled.
So after the driver was installed I ran the setup file for the software as seen above. Simple process not confusing at all. And even their disclaimer was short and to the point, at least that is what I thought.
So it takes a few seconds after accepting the terms of the disclaimer and clicking on the next button to actually install the software, it was pretty fast, probably took about 1 or 2 minutes to install. As you can see below that is the last step, I left the check box marked to run the profile editor after clicking finish. You don't have to obviously and can just open it later.

As you can see from the last two screen shots the software interface where you can go and configure the mouse settings and programming. Under settings you get the actual dpi options you want which is great because there is an X and Y for what level of sensitivity you want the dpi to be set to and each can be set to a different level. Both X and Y range from 100 to 5,600 dpi, and their is also a precision aim which allows an adjustment for all those FPS games, although I can't play any of those games without having a disaster of overeating on pizza and burgers with all the chugging of soda only to fall asleep within 30 minutes of gaming, haha. Lastly they have a section for support which has links some useful I think, especially the game profiles which you can get for the mouse. I haven't tried that myself yet, but I will. That's all for today. Hope you enjoyed this small rant of my graduation gift.
May you all keep gaming it one day at a time!

The 10 Commandments of a Lazy Person

Ok so here is a picture of a shirt one of my cousins had and was going to throw away, but luckily got a hold of it. Of course its funny, even thou you may not agree 100%.

Ok so for those of you who can't read in Spanish I will do my best to translate.

"The ten commandments of a lazy person"
"1.  Is born tired and lives to rest.
 2. Loves you like you yourself.
 3.  If you see someone resting, help him/her rest.
 4. Rest in the day to sleep at night.
 5. Work is sacred, Don't Touch It!
 6. Everything you can do tomorrow, don't do today.
 7. Work the least possible, what you have to do, let others do it.
 8. Keep calm, no one has ever died for resting.
 9. When you have a desire to work, sit down and let that feeling pass away.
 10. If work is health, then let the sick work."

I probably don't agree with the last one, sounds pretty harsh, but besides that one I thought the others were funny, don't get me wrong I'm hardly ever resting. So far I have always been busy work, school, running, working out, home IT projects, and lots of reading. Number three is awesome, imagine you are passing by and someone is resting and you say "hey need some help?" the other person nods yes, perfect, never pass up a good rest time especially in the busy world we live in. I like to rest whenever I get a chance and look at the skies while listening to music or something of that sort. Unfortunately there are people who follow five and six. Five seems like procrastination, am I right? " I'll wait tomorrow and clean it up" haha I've done that with homework a few times myself. Number six I have never liked, as a joke yes, but when others don't put in the effort when working in a team, it can be annoying. Well we have to be the better person and do the right thing, right? Feel free to laugh at it, but remember I didn't make this shirt, I have no clue who made it, just sharing because I thought it was funny.  Alright you all have a great weekend, I am about to go for my Friday run!

Pasadena 10K race... running my first 10k race

Hey there everyone who has stopped by my page. Thanks again.
Well unfortunately I don't have any pictures to share on this one, I was a bit nervous as it was my first 10k race and I haven't ran in many years. So long story short(OK maybe not short at all) this is how my weekend went. Saturday went to the expo to pick up my bib, goodie bag, and t-shirt there were quite a number of booths to check out but the heat was not exactly bearable for me. I picked up my things and then checked part of the race course that went from Pasadena City College on Colorado Blvd all the way close by Carmelita Gardens where the turn happens to go back to same way we came from but obviously staying on Colorado Blvd and on the opposite side of the cones that were put out on Sunday. So I pretty much rested on Saturday no extra runs no exercise, simply resting for Sunday aka race day. I believe I went to bed at about 10:00pm but didn't really fall asleep right away and I woke up twice once at 2:30am and then at about 4:10 or something close to that. Plus with the heat at night it was almost impossible to stay asleep, but never the less I got some good shut eye. Morning time I got going at 4:50 am ate breakfast. Now if you ask what's good to eat? I will say I honestly don't know. But I ate a light peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a banana. Drank some water since I forgot to buy orange juice. Left the house with my siblings and cousins aka my cheering squad.
Got to the race location and found plenty of parking very easy to find a spot no hassle no super waiting like its the first day at college, no sir/mam. It was a pleasant parking experience. Walked into the walkways of Pasadena City College and I started to get nervous haha. I started thinking what if''s, but luckily my family eased my nervousness down. There were many people and I knew it was going to be a fun race, I went for my warm up and returned 10 minutes just in time to get in place to start the race. The bib was pretty cool they had the timing chip affixed to the bib so easy, light, and extremely practical so as to not forget because its on the bib. So I didn't put myself in the best location amongst the large crowd or runners, even thou the announcer was kind enough to repeat several times that those with good mile pace below 8 minutes to move to the front. Usually I check my splits with MapMyRun app which i use quite some, running laps of 2.1-2.4 miles so my mile splits range from 6:50-8:05 I think. So I though naively well the middle shouldn't be bad since again I haven't ran a race in a long time I thought I was making the right call for myself. Race starts and then I realize "Oh my God" this is to slow I should have gone to the front. So I find myself moving up swerving at every open spot available to move forward as much as I can. Damn just into the first mile I feel the heat and how dry my throat got, so now I have to pace myself with the first person I see that has a good stable pace I like, and thankfully there was. As I try to salivate to ease up the dryness I pick up my pace once again and continue, but again the dryness, I was like "I have to tough it out" and then I see water station up ahead. "Yes!" of course not aloud, but in  my head I'm thinking I found salvation. My first race I have no clue on how to grab that cup of water so I'm continuing my pace and stumble the cup and accidentally wet the volunteer, I was like oops and yell "Sorry!" luckily I grabbed the cup of water and sip into it and tossed it into the trash boxes available there. I continued in the race and I can see people putting in there effort from all age ranges and diverse ethnicity. Now you are probably wondering how is that so "WoW" , well I shall explain, I've lived in Los Angeles, but not really. I really just lived at home, at work and at school. So for me it was amazing seeing people putting in their effort and that's when I remembered I decided to do this, Sun or no Sun. I caught into my pace and began moving forward catching up to people ahead of me. This was exciting even thou many people are running all for several different reasons to me catching up moving ahead is fun I get to see how much I can push myself. Well as noted earlier  I got to the turn point and I hear a few runners pushing it, and it was motivating because I didn't give way and pushed as well. On the way back I tried maintaining a good pace until the next water station this time sipping and splashing water on me.
After the fifth mile I tried to keep up with a group of runners that were close to each other there were three of them, 2 male and 1 female. I was like "got to keep a close distance behind them" I was tired by this point and I felt my back muscles reaching a limit, but limits are meant to be broken right?. So continuing into the last part of the race because I was so close to those three runners I sprinted towards the end and passed all three. I have to be thankful they were there so I could pace myself good and got motivated to go for my first record in a 10K, otherwise I would not have pushed at the end. Well after passing the finish line and my time getting recorded I was like "oh no I should not have sprinted" I felt like puking (vomiting) I was trying to walk but I could feel my breakfast would have come out, and I'm sure my face expression scared or made the volunteers laugh on the inside. I think I looked like a cartoon character who's cheeks look like balloons before he or she pukes them. Anyways I'm just trying to get out so I could walk it off and breath some air because it was packed with volunteers handing out the medals (participation medals, I assume) One of the volunteers hands me one after sometime and I make my way out and continue walking and finally slowly but surely catch my breath. It was good thou because they had water bottles, some energy drink mix, oranges, cold towels, and ice for what I saw. So I'm walking slowly all dazed and dorked out from the heat and that last sprint and I'm trying to ask for a water bottle and the volunteer says I could get one, I'm like oh cool I thought I had to ask. I'm still dazed and hadn't noticed people were just getting the stuff as they walked by. I'm here like a doofus asking if I can get one, a habit I guess. So after I'm like oh that's how it it is. I'm walking getting my orange slices drinking plenty of water to keep hydrated, and grabbing some ice to cool off. The only thing I didn't get was the cold towel, I felt like I didn't need it and someone else who did could use one, but I'm sure they had plenty. So I catch up with my siblings and cousins who were like "we didn't see you until the last second , and we were screaming "Rudy, Rudy", did you hear us?" . I was like I was sprinting I was pushing all I had left so everything was muffled and I nearly puked, we all just had a good laugh.
We stayed for the award ceremony as I saw the top 3 overall winners in the half-marathon, 10k, and 5k races. I was motivated and thought I'm going to train harder, smarter so that next time I get my shot at being there. There isn't anything we can't do if we put our minds to it, that's for sure. We just have to try and keep trying and never quit on ourselves. My first 10k was fun, exciting, and a feel of dizziness ha ha it was great I can't wait for the next race. I placed 36 overall for the 10k and in my age group of 25-29 I placed 4th with a time of 48:16 with a pace time of 7:46/M. I'm happy with the result, but I can't wait to improve and challenge the awesome people who are faster than me.

External Hard Drive Enclosure To My Data Rescue

Ok so this past week my pc no longer worked apparently there was an input/output error. At first I thought it was a virus. Since the OS would freeze up and the hard drive seemed to be active. So I booted up a flash drive I had prepared with Linux, antivirus, and some partition utilities, but that was in vain. Unable to scan drives, they would appear and then be gone. Until finally one of the antivirus scanners said something useful "Input/Output Error" while trying to access the hard drive. Convince of such a problem I went to my local electronics retailer, well maybe not that local, but the one I prefer to go to. I purchased a simple external enclosure from Vantec the model appears to be the NextStarCX. Here are a few pics of what followed....
In the picture above you can see where the hard drive will be placed on to connect to the SATA connector.

This is just the actual case its got a nice look to it and so far since I have used it 3 days, it gets warm, but not hot. So that's good.
In the picture above where you see the green arrow is a 3 pin cable which comes from the inside of the case. A little more on this a few pictures below.
Simple USB cable and power cable. I wish the power cable would be a lot smaller simply to connect to a surge protector, but that's another ordeal in of itself. Other than that its good. It does bring a small stand to be used, however I didn't find it useful personally, simply because I rather have the drive laying down.
In the picture above you see the hard drives SATA connectors inside the red box and the enclosures connector in the yellow box. Simple enough to do once the hard drive is placed on top slide into the connector and as pictured below in the orange box it fits perfectly well.

Now carefully flip over while sustaining the metal enclosure and hard drive together otherwise if you flip while holding only the hard drive or the enclosure you risk breaking off the circuit board and more than likely a non functional external enclosure. Once flipped over as you can see above there are 4 screws. Mine came with all screws necessary, but I only used two as you can see, but I'd recommend you use all four of them, again you don't want to risk damaging something(by that I mean the enclosure or your hard drive). I only did it because I was in a hurry to get my data recovered.
Ok so once the screws are on, simply slide in your hard drive to the enclosures case up to 3/4 of the way in of the hard drive. You will see a white cable that's a 3 pin connector carefully place that cable under a tiny gap below the hard drive, but there isn't much space so you will have to figure this one out and be cautious of doing so.
Now as you can see above the red/yellow arrow points to the 3 pin connector connected to the circuit board area. Be very careful when sliding in the rest of the hard drive into the enclosure for the white cable may be pressed hard against the case and cause the 3 pin connector to wiggle on the circuit board.
And... finally if all goes well for you I hope. You will simply put two more screws on in the back of the case to keep it all intact and so the hard drive doesn't accidentally pop out of the enclosure. once completed in the back you will see the connections for the USB and power cable and the power button. That power button is good turn on when you need it and off when you don't, especially when you will have one hard drive their permanently. Now since I have switched three hard drives in that case already I am more than satisfied with its fair ease of swapping a drive in and out. However , I don't know if swapping constantly would diminish this enclosures future use. I have to say for the price it does a very good job transferring data and its very easy to put in a hard drive.

How many of you remember having an SNES. I remember when I first got it I kept telling my parents how I would study hard and get good grades and that I would be a good kid. Well it was no surprise that I'd be a good kid since I was shy, easily scared, and with asthma haha. The grades part was the hardest to accomplish but I did my best and I remember my folks purchasing my first gaming system. Now of course I got this during my middle school years so you can imagine how much I played. Anyone remember renting video games from your local video game shop renter? I do. I couldn't wait to go and rent games I felt like I was on top of the world with my SNES. Well, but at last some good things are memories, and awesome ones at that. If anyone tells me they were willing to pay me more than $50USD for a non working system I'm definitely going to run one extra mile today haha. By the way any of you remember jumping along with Mario just like with the Nintendo gaming system? I did all the time.
Anyways that's it for today. I have to go run later today and study for my Cisco certification. Hopefully I'll be posting some pc internal pics on how to take one apart and make a bootable usb drive to install one of the many flavors of Linux. So I'll have a full blown tutorial on that sometime in the future. Take care and may you all have a great awesome day!

The beginning

Hello everyone who by mistake or search ends up here. Just a little intro about myself. Currently about to graduate after many years of not knowing what to do, but then again I'm not the only one just one of the few right? haha. I love to run and currently I'm trying my best to live a healthy lifestyle so expect some food postings and they may not necessarily be healthy. I love to run so in light of my choice in lifestyle I expect to run a few races this year. I love computers so I will be posting things of that nature, but then again in this digital world who doesn't. I'll be doing my best to create a fun page for you to look at, even if it means you have to laugh at my weirdness, lol. Thanks for stopping by and until next time.
